Feb. 14--GREENVILLE--Running a small business without a business plan is like being lost in the woods, Rodney Kirtley said Wednesday.

Kirtley, a businessman himself before becoming Muhlenberg County judge-executive in 1993, made the comparison during a kick-off breakfast for sponsors of classes for small businesses.

The eight-week Small Business Success Series will begin Feb. 21 and meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays through April 11 in the Career Advancement Center of Muhlenberg County, where the breakfast was held.
