Feb. 26--HALTOM CITY, Texas--Fort Worth developer Justin McWilliams has acquired 6.01 acres in the heart of Belknap Street, where he plans a multi-building retail development.
The planned 50,000-square-foot development, Belknap Street Town Square, at the corner of Waldemar Street will consist of at least four buildings housing various businesses, retailers and restaurants, McWilliams said.
City leaders say they are hopeful the project will spur further development on the few remaining lots of land, as well as the redevelopment of some older properties, along Belknap Street.
"It will be good for the area, a catalyst," said James Pliska, Haltom City's director of planning. "We've had a little bit of redevelopment already, but I'm anxious to see their building plans. It's a good piece of property."
