Publix Ranks Top among Supermarkets in Customer-Satisfaction Survey.

Feb. 20--A new national survey reinforces the reputation of Lakeland-based Publix Super Markets Inc. as the industry leader in keeping consumers happy.
The American Customer Satisfaction Index for 2001, compiled at the University of Michigan business school and released Tuesday, put Publix at the top of the list for supermarkets. Publix has ranked No. 1 every year since the index's debut in 1994.
The index addresses different sectors of the economy each quarter. The latest covered sectors including department stores, E-commerce retailers, fast-food restaurants, banks and insurers.
