Mar. 6-- ALWAYS ROOM FOR ONE MORE BOILER ROOM: Despite the laudable efforts by local authorities to shut down boiler-room operations, the market for separating gullible people from their money is unlikely to disappear soon.
The saga of the late Ian John Travis, who ended up at the wrong end of a business dispute in Bangkok last week, is a case in point, according to reports from his home country.
Travis set up the brokerage firm Platinum Asia last month and hired 100 staff to help him rip off naive investors around the world, according to the New Zealand Herald.
