Mar. 5--The Enron meltdown has led to a global rethink of corporate governance, accounting practices and the role of auditing firms in protecting market discipline.
One clear change in the wake of Enron, according to Dennis Codon, chief legal counsel of Unocal Corp, was the move for auditing firms not only to separate clearly from their consulting arms, but also the drive for investment banking to forge a clear division from financial analyst services.
