Mar. 2--Dhanin Chearavanont has returned to the Forbes list of dollar billionaires after a two-year absence, while Thaksin Shinawatra has barely hung on, following a slide in the value of his companies' shares.
The US magazine estimated the wealth of the Charoen Pokphand Group chairman and his family at $1.3 billion, while the Shinawatra family was said to be worth $1 billion, a decline from $1.2 billion last year.
They were the only two residents of Thailand on the list of 497 billionaires worldwide. David Bromilow, a low-profile British investor, made the list as a Thai resident last year but did not appear anywhere on the table this year.
