Mar. 1--Tricon, the US restaurant firm that runs the Pizza Hut and KFC chains, will significantly slow down its outlet expansion in Thailand this year while working harder to increase sales from each location.
After expanding dramatically last year, Tricon Restaurants (Thailand) Co will cut investment this year by 30 percent to between 600 million and 700 million baht from 1.05 billion last year, and reducing the openings of new Pizza Hut and KFC outlets by half, to a total of 51, including 36 KFCs and 15 Pizza Huts.
Last year, Tricon opened 102 outlets, 67 of which were Pizza Huts.
