More Funds to Be Allowed to Bid for Bonds in Thailand.

Mar. 1--Charity organisations and co-operatives will be allowed to bid for government bonds and debt instruments issued by the Financial Institutions Development Fund under a new "non-competitive" bidding system set up by the Finance Ministry.
Sommai Phasee, deputy finance permanent secretary, said that at present, only financial institutions listed as primary dealers were able to bid directly for new government bond issues.
Allowing charity organisations and savings co-operatives to bid directly for new bond issues as well would help give them greater flexibility in managing their investment assets and broaden the ...
