Apr. 4--PTT Plc will not be asked to intervene in the retail petrol market despite current volatility in world prices, according to Industry Minister Suriya Juengrungruangkij.
"Domestic oil prices are expected to rise steadily but will definitely not exceed 17 baht per litre for premium petrol," he said yesterday.
Concern about oil supply disruption has risen because of Opec's efforts to limit supply, together with the suggestion by Iran and Iraq, Opec's second and fourth largest producers, to use oil as a "weapon" against the United States, the biggest energy consumer, to support Palestinians.
