Apr. 4--Andersen Thailand said yesterday that it would merge with KPMG Thailand, just as other Andersen affiliates in Asia were closing separate deals with Ernst and Young.
Kaisri Nithikarnphisitha, country managing partner for Andersen Thailand, said the merger should be completed in October, assuming due diligence and litigation issues were cleared.
"We reached a preliminary agreement to combine the operations last month. ... If the deal goes through, the agreement should be finalised in June. Then, the merger plans will be launched in October," she said.
