Apr. 3--Thailand's garment exporters concede that they have yet to strengthen themselves to cope with tougher competition when the global garment and textile import quota system is lifted.
Quota restrictions that govern trade are due to be abolished on Jan 1, 2005 under World Trade Organisation regulations.
Suchart Chantaranakaracha, the president of the Thai Garment Manufacturers' Association, said the decline of garment exports in recent years worried him.
