Apr. 3--Bahrain has proposed investing $500 million in a matching fund with the government and has expressed interest in forming joint ventures to set up Islamic banks, according to Foreign Minister Surakiart Sathirathai.
Bahrain has invited Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak to visit the oil-rich state to discuss the details.
