SEATTLE _ Watching No Doubt warm up March 20 in an empty Paramount Theatre from 20 feet away would be hypnotizing for any fan, but 17-year-old Anne O'Dowd's attention was focused on the soundboard, where an engineer was perfecting the musical mix for that night's concert.

"I think it's really awesome that the band let us into the sound check," said O'Dowd, who dreams of becoming a sound engineer. "It's nice to talk to someone who really knows what's going on."
