Applied bioTechnology has reported promising results from an experimental vaccine in monkeys with AIDS, through a joint research project with the New England Regional Primate Research Center of Harvard Medical School (see BBJ, June 18, 1990).

The Cambridge company's recombinant vaccinia virus vaccine, as reported in the April 19 issue of Science magazine, elicits a response from both antibodies and the cellular immune system.
