Aug. 1--Hyundai's choice of Montgomery as the location for its first U.S. automotive plant is undoubtedly a big boost to the city's otherwise steady economy.
But what is it like for people who will live near the plant? How do people in southwest Montgomery feel about the plant moving in?
To find out, the Montgomery Advertiser sat down with a small group of residents from nearby communities at Big John's, a fast-food style restaurant off the I-65 exit at Hope Hull.
The mood was mostly optimistic. Despite some concerns about increases in traffic -- particularly about truck traffic -- in the area, Hyundai's neighbors expressed hope that the new plant would bring investment and opportunity …
