The controversies of this racing season lead enthusiasts to believe many of the same issues will still be around for 2005.
The IRL made a big mistake by changing the engine formula midseason, but Honda got it right out of the box, and will win the title. F1 will remain F1 as long as Bernie Ecclestone reigns. The ALMS and the Rolex Sports Car Series should be combined.

The Champ Car/IRL conflict, the NASCAR playoff system, and yes, Michael Schumacher, will all still be issues next year.

The split in North American open-wheel racing will continue. Also, I don't foresee the FIA resolving the technical debates for slowing down the cars in F1. If ever self-interest could be seen, it's in the politics of first-tier open-wheel racing on both sides of the pond.
