May 10--Cheryl Choumbakos could gain more contacts with investors and researchers because of Continental Airlines' announcement Thursday that it will provide two nonstop flights a day from Oklahoma City to the New York City area.

Choumbakos, the president of Emergent Technologies Inc., said that because traveling to New York can take all day, counting layovers and missed flights, she doesn't make the trip as often as she should.

"The real difficulty comes in persuading people from there who are used to nonstop flights to come here and deal with layovers and small commuter flights," she said. "It just makes us less competitive as a location. It's just …
