May 7--Body Shape, a Thai-owned slimming company, plans to establish a chain of outlets offering spa treatment and massage services at major shopping centres in Thailand, later expanding to other cities in Asia.
The diversification marks the company's ninth anniversary. It owns 14 slimming centres, the largest number owned by a single Thai firm.
Linking up with herb growers in Chiang Rai, the company planned to open its first spa in Bangkok by the end of this year, said Nathee Vadtanakovint, the company's executive director.
The 1,000-square-metre spa would cost about 10 million baht to establish.
