Thailand Firms Score Better for Board Responsibilities.
May 3--Corporate governance in Thailand has improved significantly since the economic crisis but many issues remain unresolved, executives told a seminar yesterday.
"Thai companies generally perform well in board practices and in protecting shareholders' rights," said Roland Villinger, a partner at consultancy McKinsey & Co (Thailand).
This was among key findings from a recent survey on good governance conducted by McKinsey and the Thai Institute of Directors. All 54 questions were similar to those used in seven countries.
About 130 companies on the Stock Exchange of Thailand voluntarily responded to the survey. Fifty firms were in the SET-50 ...
