Jun. 3--Asia Wireless Communications Co (AWC), the marketing arm of the personal cordless telephone (PCT) service, is negotiating with the Telephone Organisation of Thailand to continue promoting the service to make it competitive with cellular alternatives.

PCT promotion needs TOT approval as the service complements fixed-line operations. Promotions by mobile phone operators do not require such approval.

Moreover, revenue-sharing between the state and the operator of the PCT service is calculated on a specified airtime rate and monthly fee, while mobile operators pay revenue on the actual amount received, even if it ...
