Jun. 4--A condensate splitter in Phetchaburi proposed by Rayong Purifier Co, a medium-sized producer of petroleum and petrochemicals, risks being shelved after Deputy Industry Minister Pichet Sathirachawal said he had no policy to support construction of petrochemical plants in the province.
His comment came in response to a protest by 1,000 people from Ban Laem district, led by Akaporn Polabutr, a younger brother of Alongkorn Polabutr, a Democrat MP from Phetchaburi.
