Jun. 4--CLSA Securities (Thailand), a subsidiary of the Credit Lyonnais Group, expects Thailand's economy to grow by 5.5 percent this year, compared with an earlier projection of 3.6 percent.

Stephen Simmons, managing director for Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines, said growth in the three countries would be driven by domestic consumption and government spending.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand ranks third among emerging markets since the beginning of the year, having gained 40.95 percent in value.
