Aug. 9--With the expectation of increasing political stability and economic growth in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways hopes to expand its market in the region through new routes.
Patrick Yeung, the airline's new regional manager for Southeast Asia, said the region offered strong growth potential in the air travel industry, as shown by improved indicators for economic development.
Currently, the region contributes 15 percent of the Hong Kong carrier's revenue but that proportion is projected to increase substantially in the future, he said.
