Buffalo Spammer is sentenced.(Howard Carmack)
Howard Carmack, aka the Buffalo Spammer, was sentenced recently to the and one-half to seven years in prison for his March conviction in New York on spamming-related charges. EarthLink received a $16.4 million civil judgment against Carmack in May of last year. EarthLink also provided evidence to the New York Attorney General's office from its investigation into Carmack's spamming activity, and Mary Youngblood, EarthLink's abuse team manager, testified at the criminal trial.
