Adak, Nursen Ozcelik, Saglik Sosyolojisi Kadin ve Kentlesme, 2002, Istanbul: Birey Yayincilik, ISBN 975-8618-55-5
"Health Sociology, Women and Urbanization", originally written in Turkish, is Dr. Nursen Ozcelik Adak's Ph.D. thesis, in which twelve hypotheses are tested.
The main interest areas of the book are health sociology and women. Much information is given about these two subjects and their relationship. Urbanization is considered only in the form of economic income of women, and the places they live, such as urbanized areas, rural areas, or squatter housing.
Social systems approach is preferred in order to relate the research results to each other. Twelve hypotheses are tested with the aid of a questionaire and a computer program used for statistical evaluation. Questionaire was given to women in urbanized areas, rural areas, and squatter housing areas in Antalya.
The contents of the book can be analyzed in three main parts:
1. Health sociology and women.
