Jun. 6--The Telephone Organisation of Thailand says it is ready to mediate in negotiations between Advanced Info Service and TA Orange on directly connecting the mobile-phone operators.

The TOT's move came after TA Orange failed to persuade AIS to allow direct links between the two networks to help subscribers.

TOT president Sutham Malila said he was ready to act as an intermediary to bring both parties to talks.

Currently, under a concession agreement, traffic of the two networks has to pass through the TOT's fixed network.
