Jun. 5--Thailand's sporting goods market is heating up with the entry of three store chains, including a foreign one, to cash in on high growth potential.
The trio are Planet Sports, owned by Indonesian and Philippine investors; Active Nation of Manit Udomkunatam, the founder of Robinson Department store; and Sport Stadium of Pena House, a well-known local fashion retailer.
The three operators will open about 10 outlets this year in a market estimated to be worth at least five billion baht.
