Jul. 5--Shin Satellite Plc, the country's sole satellite operator, plans to construct gateways for its broadband Internet service in China and India to widen its user base prior to launching its new iPSTAR satellite, next year.
The iPSTAR broadband service promises to deliver high-speed Internet access for corporate use. It can also be adapted to existing Vsat (very small aperture satellite) technology to provide data communications such as video-conferencing.
The service is now provided in Thailand, Malaysia, India and China via the company's Thaicom 3 satellite.
