Jul. 5--With the economy showing stronger signs of recovery, manufacturers in Samut Prakan want local authorities to ease building restrictions and allow business expansion.
Current regulations bar factories in the heavily industrialised province from expanding even if they have additional room on their existing sites. The rule also made it difficult to sell businesses, said Wanchai Ong-Eam, chairman of the Samut Prakan chapter of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI).
