Jul. 4--Rapid growth in vehicle sales has prompted Toyota Motor Thailand Co, the country's largest automaker, to hire 500 additional workers, said company spokesman Mingkwan Sangsuwan.

The jobs had been created at the company's two assembly plants over the last six months.

About half the vacancies had been filled, he said yesterday, with opportunities awaiting those who were about to acquire vocational certificates and university-level qualifications.

The company will hold the Toyota Job Fair: Beyond 2002, on Sunday, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, where it plans to recruit at least 200 ...
