Natural Gas Production Begins in Gulf of Thailand.

Jul. 3--Production has begun at Unocal Thailand's North Pailin natural gas field in the Gulf of Thailand, which is also Pailin's second-phase production facility, according to Tara Tiradnakorn, vice-president for operations.
Unocal Thailand, a unit of US-based Unocal Corp, will produce 165 million cubic feet per day of gas from North Pailin, bringing the total gas supply from the Pailin field to PTT Plc to 330 million cubic feet per day as stipulated in a gas supply contract signed in 1996.
