Jul. 2--TA Orange Co, the newest provider of mobile-phone services, has stepped up the level of competition by offering free Sim cards for pre-paid services to 100,000 customers.

Starting last Tuesday, members of the company's Ambassador Programme -- friends and family members of TA Orange employees including its parent company, the Charoen Pokphand group -- received letters containing cards for the Just Talk service. The card, encrypted with free airtime worth 200 baht, expires at the end of July.
