Aug. 3--A sharp rise in the number of skytrain passengers is expected to increase the revenue of Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTSC) by 50 percent this year, from 2.73 billion baht in 2001.
It was no surprise that the economic recovery had led to higher skytrain use, said Keeree Kanjanapas, executive chairman and chief executive of BTSC.
"The rise is not phenomenal, really," said Mr Keeree. "The number of passengers missed our original projection mainly due to the economic slump."
