Aug. 3--House-brand goods produced by large retailers are the latest target of Deputy Commerce Minister Newin Chidchob in his crusade to curb what he and many local suppliers believe are unfair practices.
Retailers who produced house-brand goods with similar packaging and sold them at lower prices than products from other suppliers could be considered to have a conflict of interest, according to the Sub-committee on Trade Competition, which Mr Newin chairs.
When such house brands were displayed next to similar goods from suppliers it was unfair, he said yesterday.
The committee will ask the Food and Drug Administration to enforce labelling regulations to ensure that house brands look ...
