Aug. 3--Senior policymakers yesterday played down reports of a dispute between Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and the Bank of Thailand.
On Wednesday, Mr Thaksin criticised M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula, the central bank governor, for failing to take action to stabilise the baht and limit exchange-rate swings that were affecting trade.
Mr Thaksin also took Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak to task for not monitoring the central bank sufficiently regarding exchange rate policy.
