Aug. 1--I spent a few days in Hua Hin last week. Apart from marvelling at the fact that several hotels were 60-70 percent occupied during the week thanks to visiting foreign tourists -- mainly German it seemed -- I tried to think as little about the markets as possible. I failed.
Enjoying the tea area at the Sofitel Central Hua Hin, which remains the best public area in town to contemplate or read despite the recent emergence of several new hotels, it was difficult to contemplate anything but more uncertainty across the world.
And I'll venture something else. Most professional investors are probably as uncertain as I am about the next several months.
