Aug. 1--Thai Airways International's stalled partial privatisation is now moving ahead with the final blessing given yesterday by the State Enterprise Policy Committee.
The approval, granted by the committee chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Pongpol Adireksarn, and the frameworks approved also yesterday by THAI's board, will set into motion the public offering toward the end of this year.
Three hundred million new shares and 100 million shares to be disposed of by the Finance Ministry will be offered. The sale will reduce the ministry's ownership in the national carrier to 70 percent from 93 percent at present.
