Aug. 6--News that True Corporation directors had approved a capital increase of approximately 2.75 billion baht through a private placement sent shares of the Bangkok fixed-line operator tumbling on the Stock Exchange of Thailand yesterday.
True shares declined 18 percent to 4.06 baht, a 12-month low, in trade worth 203.1 million baht. Prior to yesterday, the shares had traded in a range between 4.86 and 10.40 baht over the past 52 weeks.
The company said the new funds raised would allow True to meet the capital requirements of cellular subsidiary TA Orange and to complete the settlement of the debts of PCT subsidiary Asia Wireless Communication.
