Hurry up, Thai prime minister tells airport contractors.
Aug. 6--Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra warned that contractors for the Suvarnabhumi International Airport would be restricted from participating in other state projects if they don't speed up within two months to meet the construction timetable.
He issued the warning after learning from the airport development committee yesterday that construction was running around 7 percent to 8 percent behind schedule.
The main contractors on the site include Italian-Thai Development, Ch. Karnchang, Takenaka Corp and Obayashi Corp.
Mr Thaksin said that while he was confident the world-class international airport would be completed on time to be operational ...
