WHAT'S IN STORE FOR `24'
While you're recording the first season of Fox's Emmy-nominated spy-thriller series "24" _ which is reprised in its entirety marathon-style starting at midnight ET Sunday on FX _ you can dream of next season. And here are a few secrets revealed, courtesy of star Kiefer Sutherland, executive producer Robert Cochran and USA Today. (Warning: First-season plot details are revealed below.)
_ The 24 day starts at 8 a.m. rather than midnight, which gives the characters a night's sleep and lets producers film daytime hours in the summer, when more light is available.
_ The new day comes a year and a half after Jack Bauer (Sutherland) saved presidential candidate David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert). He's estranged from his daughter, Kim (Elisha Cuthbert), who's spending time with another family, helping care for their children.
_ Jack has quit the CIA counterterrorism unit, but Palmer, now president, seeks his help against a possible terrorist attack in Los Angeles. Jack must decide whether to help Palmer or save his daughter.
