Sep. 6--Foreign and Thai retail and wholesale operators will need permission from a central committee to be set up once the new Retail Act is passed, according to Commerce Minister Adisai Bodharamik.
The central committee will set regulations governing types of businesses to be controlled, policy and planning for retail and wholesale business, conditions for store establishment and expansion as well as measures for retailers and wholesalers to implement.
The ministry would finish the draft Retail Act on Monday and would hold a public hearing on Wednesday, he said.
