Sep. 6--The head of one of the world's largest pension funds will take a first-hand look at Thailand's markets and progress in improving corporate governance.

William Crist, the president of the board of the California Public Employees Retirement System, will be among the invited speakers at a seminar on international fiduciary practices.

The seminar will be hosted by the Government Pension Fund at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre on Tuesday.

Visit Tantisunthorn, the GPF's secretary-general, said fiduciary practices were crucial when institutional investors considered new investments.
