Sep. 4--The Siam Pulp & Paper Plc (SPP), a subsidiary of the Siam Cement Group, is seeking to acquire the remaining shares of Thai British Security Printing Plc (TBSP) after successfully acquiring a 44 percent stake in the specialty printer.
SPP president Somboon Chuchawal said the company had already purchased shares from some major shareholders of TBSP who had committed to selling. The pulp manufacturer said it would make a tender offer for all remaining shares at 42.50 baht each.
TBSP shares, which are generally quite illiquid, were unusually active yesterday, rising 2.50 baht to 42.50, in trade worth 2.9 million baht.
