Sep. 3--An arbitration committee set up by governments in Bangkok and Vientiane has resolved several longstanding disputes between Thai and Laotian businessmen in Laos.
At its first meeting in Vientiane last month, the committee solved one major case involving a sawmill and six smaller cases, a source said.
Eighteen other cases are still pending due to a lack of information, which the parties involved had been asked to supply, the source said.
The committee is chaired by Prachuab Chaiyasarn, a trade representative and former foreign minister, and Boonkeut Sangsomsak, Laos' deputy foreign minister. Set up ...
