Sep. 2--While other operators are giving priority to signing up new customers, Advanced Info Service Plc, the largest provider of mobile phones services, is concentrating on retaining its huge customer base.

To achieve the goal, AIS has classified users into segments and targets them with the services they will most likely require, according to Arunporn Limskul, AIS's customer marketing management manager.

Ms Arunporn said the company had advantages over other operators as its longtime clients were among the first subscribers to mobile services.
