Sep. 2--The Asia-Pacific region is on the way to becoming one of the largest pork and poultry producers next to Brazil, according to the executive of a global agricultural exhibition firm.

According to Richard de Boers, project manager of Jaarbeurs Exhibitions & Media, Thailand's intensive animal production industry and supply of raw materials is propelling the country into the global forefront of animal production, chicken in particular.

Jaarbeurs Exhibition & Media is preparing for VIV Asia 2003, which is the Dutch firm's sixth bi-annual international agricultural exhibition.
