Sep. 2--Thailand's health-care and education sectors are lagging behind global standards and need a united private sector to provide new solutions to the troubles faced by the two industries, said an executive of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank, is expanding its operations in Thailand with its health-care and education portfolio, a "frontier" segment of the firm, which is now searching for investment opportunities in East Asia.
