Sep. 2--Banpu Plc, a major energy producer, wants a foreign partner to take almost one third of its 50 percent shareholding in BLCP Power Co, one of its power plant subsidiaries in Rayong, to boost the project's potential.
Banpu's chief executive, Chanin Vongkusolkit, said the 1,347-megawatt coal-fired plant operated by BLCP, a joint venture of Banpu and Hong Kong-based CLP International Co, was contracted to supply power to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
"Both Banpu and CLP International plan to cut their holdings in BLCP from 50 percent to 35 percent each. However, this can be changed," Mr Chanin said.
