Sep. 12--HARRISBURG, Pa.-- The state Attorney General's Office told an appeals court yesterday that the charitable trust that controls Hershey Foods Corp. was rushing to sell the company even though the trust was flush with billions of dollars.
Pointedly referring to the trust as "these people," First Deputy Attorney General Gerald J. Pappert said, "There is no reason for these people to sell this company."
The arguments came during a hearing on the trust's appeal of a lower-court ruling temporarily preventing any sale of the chocolate giant.
