Aug. 4--Thailand's agricultural products, notably rice, sugar and chicken, are expected to get an export boost from the new global trade accord, but the Commerce Ministry warns the accord would also bring a surge in prices of certain imported farm products used as raw materials for re-export.

Karun Kittisataporn, the ministry's permanent secretary, said the accord to end export subsidies on farm products and cut import duties reached on Sunday by the World Trade Organisation would offer great benefits to developing countries, including Thailand.
